The supreme court has ordered to stop the monal restaurant extension. On Tuesday the apex court ordered that all the unlawful constructions on the Margalla Hills must be stopped on an immediate basis while hearing a case on the protection of Margalla Hills.
A restaurant in Monal has slashed down 200 trees for the purposes of illegal expansion, the CDA chairperson told the apex court on Tuesday. The bench said that the restaurant should be halted from doing any construction work and it should be planting the trees that it has cut.
The directives are applicable to the government of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa too as a portion of the hills falls within their jurisdiction too.
Maragalla Hills National Park is a property of public land and any commercial activity or whatsoever is restricted on its land.
The court will be resuming the hearing session of the case after Eid.
