A Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) of the ruling political party of Punjab Shaheen Raza had died on Wednesday after contracting novel coronavirus at the Mayo Hospital in the provincial capital Lahore.
According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Mayo Hospital Dr. Asad Aslam, the MPA had tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and was admitted to the hospital three days ago.
The CEO Mayo Hospital further said that the deceased was also a patient of blood pressure and diabetes.
It is pertinent to mention here that Shaheen Raza is the first lawmaker of Pakistan to lose her life to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) that took lives of the thousands of people around the world.
Previously, several politicians in Pakistan including the Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail and Provincial Minister of the Sindh government Saeed Ghani had tested positive for the novel coronavirus after which they went into the self-isolation and recovered.
