PM Khan would be launching the Roshan Digital Account Project today. The project is aimed at offering digital banking facilities to the overseas Pakistanis for the first time in the nation.
Special Assistant to PM on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari and his ministry finalized the project and it would be launched by the State Bank of Pakistan with the support of 8 major banks of Pakistan.
Under the Roshan Digital Account project, the Pakistani diaspora would be able to make use of the banking facility from a digital payment system and the consumers would be able to open their bank accounts without the need of visiting banks, or consulate or embassy.
Under the project, the overseas Pakistanis would be able to manage their accounts without the need of visiting Pakistan and could make use of the facilities of direct banking, other e-commerce facilities, and bill payment.
These accounts could also be used for the purposes of investment in the buying of property and in the stock exchange market within Pakistan. The consumers would also have the chance to either open the bank account either in Pakistani currency or in foreign currency.
PM Khan in his message before the inauguration said that this venture would offer better investment chances to the Pakistanis living abroad, who are an asset to the nation.
He further said that to offer facilities to the Pakistanis living abroad is the top priority of the government.
