PM Khan has called a high-level meeting with the Pakistan Cricket Board officials and cricketers on the afternoon of Wednesday.
As per the shared details, a delegation consisting of the chairman of PCB Ehsan Mani, the CEO of the board Wasim Khan, the cricket committee members Wasim Akram, Misbah ul Haq-the head coach and the chief selector, Azhar Ali-the Test captain, and Mohammad Hafeez-the all-rounder would be attending the meeting.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, the ex-captain of the Pakistan cricket team was also invited to the meeting, however, he would not be attending it because of some personal reasons.
Pakistan team’s performance during the England tour and the current domestic structure is believed to be made a part of the discussion in the meeting.
The new domestic structure has received immense criticism by the ex-players, the fans, and even by some of the PCB officials themselves after it took the decision of replacing the departmental sides with the regional teams.
Recently, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board Committee-Iqbal Qasim had resigned from his position quoting the reason behind his resignation to be the non-revival of the departmental cricket.
Mohammad Hafeez while talking to the media said that he would be raising the issue in the meeting with PM Khan as it is affecting the livelihood of the players who could not make it to the association sides.
