Pacy Ihsanullah claims five as Multan cruise to an easy victory over Quetta

The Multan Sultans secured an impressive win against the Quetta Gladiators in the third match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on February 15, 2023, at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

The star for the Sultans was 20 year old Ihsanullah who delivered a fiery spell that took five scalps and did not let Quetta gain any momentum in their innings.

In addition to Ihsanullah’s outstanding performance, the Sultans’ other two pacers, Sameen Gul and Abbas Afridi, also gave their side an early boost by claiming a wicket each. Sameen struck in his first over, sending Martin Guptill packing after he scored just seven runs, while Abbas Afridi caught Abdul Wahid Bangalzai with a mid-on fielder.

In reply, led by the explosive batter Rilee Rossouw, the Sultans were able to easily chase down the 111 runs set by the Gladiators with 39 balls to spare. Rossouw, who scored 78 not-out off 42 balls, hitting nine boundaries and three maximums, brought up his eighth PSL 50 in just 33 balls, helping his team finish off the job with the bat.

Overall, the Multan Sultans’ all-round performance proved to be too much for the Quetta Gladiators to handle, who looked completely out of sorts in the match. Things look a bit worrying for Sarfraz’s Quetta, and they would need to regroup before their next match with Karachi Kings on Saturday.

Multan Sultans, on the other hand, seem to have come back stronger from their last ball loss against Lahore Qalandar and they now top the points table thanks to the net run rate.
