Asian World, a UK publication has released a politicians list who worked hard amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Prime Minister Imran Khan has been featured on the list at the top.
In order to effectively mitigate the COVID-19 effects in the country, Asian World has featured PM Khan on the top of the list. The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme of PM Khan was cited by the publication for providing cash stipends to hundreds of thousands of people.
US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was featured at number two for helping the needy people during the coronavirus pandemic.
The publication said, “She has been pushing for more financial support to those in disadvantaged communities especially in poor areas where working from home is not an option.”
New Zealand’s PM Jacinda Ardern was also included in the list for placing a strict and successful lockdown in the country, ensuring that there were no more COVID-19 cases for some time in the country.
The Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin was listed for declaring a state of emergency at the time necessary. Similarly, Congresswoman for Minnesota Ilhan Omar launched a bill in the U.S to cancel rent and mortgage payments amidst the pandemic, for which she was immensely praised.
Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau was also included in the list. Asian World stated, “Justin proposed the Canada Emergency Student Benefit, which would provide support to students and new graduates who can’t work and are worried about basic living expenses.”
Another name from Pakistan who was praised for his efforts was Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari Special Assistant to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development. Bukhari led from the front during the COVID-19 pandemic in helping stranded Pakistanis return to their home.
