Government Imposes Ban on swimming or Bathing on the seaside on Eid

As a preventive measure from the deadly disease, the government of Sindh decided to impose a ban on bathing and swimming in the sea and canals on the evening of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The ban has been imposed under the criminal procedure code (CrPC) Section 144 to contain the spread of the COVID-19, as per the notification issued by the Sindh Home Department.

Sindh Home department decided to impose the ban on swimming in the sea on the evening of Eid-ul-Fitr after considering the request made by the Hyderabad and Karachi’s commissioners.

The notification issued by the government reads that the rush at the beaches can spread the coronavirus in a larger amount.

Although on 20th May, the district administration announced to close all hotels and tourist spots in Murree throughout the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.

Rawalpindi’s Deputy Commissioner Anwarul Haq said while talking to the journalists that this decision has been put forward for the sake of people’s health so that they can be saved from the coronavirus. He also asked people not to visit Murree during the Eid holidays.

Anwarul Haq says that the crowd at the tourist spots will allow the virus to spread more and more. People who are already residents will be allowed to enter Murree after showing their National Identity cards.
