Recently, European Union has taken strict action against PIA after the incident of the plane crash a few weeks ago, the European Union Air Safety Agency had announced the suspension of PIA’s air operations permit for European countries for 6 months from July 1 onwards.
However, with the efforts of the government of Pakistan, the European Union (EU) has allowed PIA to operate until July 3.
PIA temporarily canceled all flights to Europe after the EU announced its restrictions. However, now the government’s efforts have paid off and the Foreign Secretary has urgently contacted the ambassadors of all European countries, while the PIA administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the ambassadors of Pakistan are in constant touch with the European authorities, according to AFP.
After which the European Union has given permission to PIA to operate air operations till July 3. The European Union has given permission to PIA to land and overfly in the UK and Europe from July 1 to 3. Later PIA’s return flights from Islamabad to London and PK785 and 786 will operate as usual. Other flights will be announced soon.
