ERGO is a relatively new cryptocurrency considered by many a highly profitable one in terms of mining. Contrary to ETH algorithms, ERGO has much lower demands for hardware. For example, efficient ERGO mining can be conducted even by cards with less than 2Gb. ETH mining requires at least 2Gb.
If you are an owner of an older video card with less than 4Gb, you should most certainly take a closer look at ERGO. It is especially important for miners with AMD Radeon HD 7970, R9 280X, R9 380X, Fury, R9 290X cards that cannot be used to mine ETH. These GPUs are quite powerful in their own right and show excellent results when used to mine ERG.
Modern miners may not even support some of the older models of video cards (Fiji, Baffin, Hawaii, Tonga) since Polaris core AMD cards that are older than RX480 are outdated for ETH mining.
To start mining ERGO using older models of AMD cards, you can use SRBMiner Multi. Other miners that support ERGO are Teamredminer and Nanominer but hash rates of AMD cards will be noticeably lower. Modern video cards show practically the same results when used with different miners.
Aside of older card optimization, SBMiner Multi has other advantages that will increase your profits:
- Mining with GPU and CPU. You may start mining ERGO with Autolykos and simultaneously launch mining Monero on RandomX.
- Simultaneous mining of ERGO and Ziliqa (ZIL).
- MBminer can be used to mine ERGO using Autolykos 2 with Nvidia cards.
- You can trade ERGO tokens on the Kucoin exchange where trading volumes are at the highest.
Nvidia Hash Rates for Autolykos 2:
Geforce GTX 970 – 32Mh/s
Geforce GTX 1050ti – 24Mh/s
Geforce GTX 1060 3Gb – 50MH/s
Geforce GTX 1070 – 75Mh/s
Geforce GTX 1080ti – 106Mh/s
Geforce GTX1660 Super – 62Mh/s
Geforce RTX 2070 Super – 82Mh/s
Geforce RTX 3060 – 110MH/s
Geforce RTX 3070 – 170Mh/s
AMD Hash Rates for ERGO:
Radeon HD 7970 – 25MH/s
Radeon R9 280X – 25Mh/s
Radeon R9 290x – 55Mh/s
Radeon R9 380 – 45Mh/s
Radeon RX 460 – 28MH/s (32.54 Mhs (core: 975, Dpm 5, Vdd: 800, vddci 835, mem: 2050)
Radeon RX 550 - 28.23MH/s (core: 1050, Dpm 5, Vdd: 800, vddci 850, mem: 2050)
Radeon RX 560 – 28Mh/s (32.54 Mhs (core: 975, Dpm 5, Vdd: 800, vddci 835, mem: 2050)
Radeon RX 470 (RX 570) – 67Mh/s
Radeon RX 480 (RX 580) – 70Mh/s
Radeon Vega 56 – 170Mh/s
Radeon RX 5600XT – 80Mh/s
Radeon RX 5700 XT -110Mh/s
Radeon RX 6700XT – 92Mh/s
Radeon RX 6800 – 120Mh/s
The main takeaway: ERGO cryptocurrency mining is best performed using older video cards by AMD and Nvidia that cannot be used to mine Ethereum. For example, a very popular R9 280X video card can produce $24 per month ($0.8 per day) in ERGO which is quite profitable compared to other cryptocurrencies while Radeon R9 290X which is the next generation of the series can reach 55Mh/s which is on par with modern video cards.
ERGO mining should interest owners of weaker equipment like RX 550, RX 560 or GTX 1050Ti since these cards have less than 4Gb and a relatively slow GPU meaning that they lose in comparison to other cards when using MTP algorithm (and similar). However, these cards can show good results when Autolykos 2 algorithm is used.
