COVID-19 Awareness Manual Released in Punjab before Reopening of Schools


A COVID-19 awareness booklet has been released by the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department of Punjab in order to ensure the safety of all students in schools.

The awareness manual is called Let’s Get Back to School which tells about all the symptoms of the virus, its modes of transmission, and the safety measures in order to prevent it from spreading. The booklet also shows the correct way of washing hands and wearing face masks.

The manual advises all students that if anyone experiences the following symptoms like; fever, fatigue, breathing, cough, and headache then they should notify their teachers.

It also encourages students to wash hands frequently, wear face masks within the school premises, maintain social distance from the class fellows, avoid touching the face, avoid sharing of lunch and stationery items and bring lunch from home.

There is a section in the booklet especially for the parents advising them to guide their children regarding the significance of wearing face masks, maintaining social distance from every class fellow, washing hands in order to keep them safe from contracting COVID-19.

The manual also carries interactive exercises for the students to make the learning process easier and interesting.

Muhammad Usman Secretary PSHD says that even though the COVID-19 cases have decreased in the country but that doesn’t mean that the virus has completely wiped out, it is still out there. Therefore, we should follow all safety measures until a vaccine comes out.
