Previously, British Airways announced that it is planning to operate direct flights to Lahore from the UK so therefore today (Tuesday), the team of British Airways visited Lahore airport to check all the security and other arrangement made by the airport authority.
As per the sources, the airline will be operating flight from and to the provincial capital as it received a permit from the PCAA (Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority) to land its flights at the airport.
The British Airways team was briefed regarding the safety measures made at the airport. The briefing was done by the Security Director of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. On the other hand, the Airport Security Force (ASF) also briefed the team of experts regarding the airport’s security.
The British Airways is going to start operating flights to Lahore after they resume direct flights to Islamabad.
The airline resumed its flight operation to Pakistan in June 2019. Back in 2008, British Airways suspended all its flight operations to Pakistan due to the Bombing incident in Islamabad.
Although the flight operations were canceled once again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But, the operations resumed again in August.
